Flat Ironed Chignon

The chignon is polished and can be worn tight or loose to the head. It’s a totally fashionable look that is easy to re-create and wear for daytime or evening. This look was shown at the United Colors of Fashion Show and looked great on all the models. To get this chic look, just flat iron the hair, pull the hair into a low ponytail while making sure to keep the hair smooth, and finish by folding hair back into itself and securing with bobby pins. 1940s Elegance

While we usually see lots of basic waves and simple ponytails, the catwalks at NYC Fashion Week are also perfect places to spot plenty of updo ideas to use on your bridal clients anytime! One amazingly glamorous look came from the Abed Mahfouz runway, courtesy of the UNITE team led by Nick Pagano. Nick and the team created an elegant, sophisticated French twist reminiscent of the 1940s. “It’s very red carpet,” he says. “It’s very glamorous, just like the clothes.” The team used UNITE Wicked Wax Pomade to give the hair a bit of body so it was easier to put up. Then, to give the hair a bit of shine and shimmer, they spritzed each model’s hair with Shina-Mist just before they hit the catwalk. This classic, flattering style is just the thing to complement any beautiful bridal gown this season.

I saw my friend Altjana Banja, a hair stylist with Dex New York, who immediately offered to fix my hair so that I'd look good for the start of Fashion Week. Altjana has a nice WEB SITE called: AltjanaStyle.com and you can find her on FACEBOOK, too. She is such a lovely and talented woman. I am always so happy to see her. Altjana does hair and makeup for special events. She told me she also travels for destination events, and recently went to Mexico for a large, destination wedding. I think Altjana does an amazing job. The photo above shows her handiwork (wish I'd worn more makeup but I didn't know I'd be seeing her at Dex New York Studios). The hair looks nice, even if the model is a bit weary!

The key to have perfect wedding day hair is to find a style that reflects who you are. You want your style to enhance your look.The hairstyle must be complements your gown,veil as well as your face.You will want to consider the style and formality of your gown when deciding on how to wear your hair.Look for styles that are consistent with the look of your gown.Also consider the neckline and sleeves of your gown when deciding on how to wear your hair.If your gown have a detailed neckline or back ,you don't want your hair to cover it.You just want to keep in mind that your hair is meant to complement your gown and not cover details that make it unique.
You must have at least one hair trial before your wedding day.Testing out your hairstyle before the big day will help ensure you get the look you want.I will be able to tell you what styles will work best on your hair.
If you plan on removing the veil after ceremony,you will want to let me know so i can show you how to remove the veil without messing up your style.

She had done her magic on me before for the Style Coalition’s Don’t Shop photo and video shoot, which got a response from my boyfriend that I looked absolutely amazing, and he hates when I wear makeup.
